Josh Peace Discusses The Power of Positive Affirmations
“Positive affirmations are those that we find as support because they help us feel a certain connection with whatever we’re going through. This is when we’re trying to relate to something, and we read or come across something that helps us feel uplifted,” says Josh Peace. Recently, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos shared a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that he has on his refrigerator to this day. The quote is:
The quote reads: “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
“We love and appreciate this quote because it helps us realize and acknowledge certain qualities that life has to offer. From our professional lives to personal, we forget that we are human and living. To respect our surrounding and our accomplishments, we must also learn to respect life around us,” says Josh Peace. Positive affirmations often remind us that we’re capable of more than what we think of ourselves. Numerous individuals can negative connotations about their abilities, but you must think otherwise. “Thinking positivity, having a mantra, or positive affirmation reminders daily can help influence your abilities and actions,” says Josh Peace.
According to studies, the mind detects positive words are uplifting from within. Based on the negative and positive words we hear our brain/mind tends to react on those accordingly. “This is so important to realize because negative words and factors bring us down without us even knowing it. Positive affirmations, quotes, sayings, and surrounding help us feel alive, and we feel a sense of living. Just like Emerson’s quote, we can then breathe easier,” says Josh Peace.
