Josh Peace Reviews Why Socialising with Co-workers is Great for Business
With the season for sporting events in full swing, leading marketing consultant Josh Peace took the opportunity last weekend to attend a sports game in Chicago, to which all of the team and his business partners were invited. The marketing expert, Josh Peace wanted to hold this event to give everybody a chance to have a good time together and build up a rapport outside of work, and it was a big success. Here, Josh Peace reviews the many benefits of socializing with your professional contacts.
“Sport is something that really brings people together, and so it seemed like a great excuse to get everybody we work with to meet up at the weekend and do something fun. In Chicago there is always something nice to do if the weather holds up, so we planned it to be a nice relaxed day with nice food and drink and a game to keep everyone entertained. I think everyone had a lot of fun.” Josh Peace told us.
“I think people underestimate the value of actually having fun and socializing with the people you work with, whether it is colleagues, clients, partners or anybody else you usually only talk to about professional matters. It really helps strengthen relationships and also makes work feel more rewarding because you are spending time making things happen with people you know and like. Those kinds of professional friendships can be very motivational and very fruitful.” Josh Peace continued.
“I like to find ways that we as business partners can socialize and really, although it sounds a bit corny, this is how a working unit begins to feel more like a family. When you view the people you work with as friends you really care about their success and pulling together to make things work becomes far more important, as you all want what is best for each other. I think we have a very good working culture in our organization, and I would suggest to any other business owners that giving some attention to letting your team socialize together is well worth doing” Josh explains.
‘Sporting events and games create some great chances to organize events together, but at any time of year, setting up a meal out or a fun activity to do as a team is easy, and can be very rewarding for the strength of your business.’ Josh Peace concluded.
